January Favourites

Hey Lovelies

It is that time of month again where I share with you my favourites. This month is all beauty related, surprise surprise! My skin has been really horrible lately so I cant say that I have been enjoying using any of my products. I also recently got a haircut so I am still experimenting with my hair and will probably need to purchase some new hair styling products as I never really felt the need to use anything with my old hair style. Onto my most loved things of the month!

I purchased this only in January and I have been absolutely loving it. I do have a blog post coming on it soon. But mainly it moisturises my lips whilst also adding a lovely my lips but better colour. I purchased mine at a discount beauty store but I know that you can get this on ASOS for $15.50 AU (currently on sale).

I absolutely love this powder, it has now become my daily setting powder and has completely smashed my Rimmel Stay Matte and Nude By Nature Finishing Veil out of the competition. This adds a lovely blurred photoshop finish to my makeup. I own two out of the three shades but soft focus is definitely my favourite of the two. These retail for $16.99 AU at Priceline.

Sadly I do not have a lot of information on this product as it is not listed on any websites and doesn't even have a shade name! I purchased this from Kmart for $2 AU and I believe it is Kmart's own beauty range called, OXX, in which everything is $2. I was not expecting a lot from this $2 quad but all of the shades are very pigmented and quite a soft blendable texture. The packaging is nothing special but perfect for travel.

I purchased this blush for $10 AU in I believe Topshop's end of year clearance sale. I really love this blush, I have two shades, this one is Do It Again which is quite a wearable shimmery peachy pink. This is quite pigmented so I make sure to use a fluffy brush and dust off any excess.

I purchased this mascara on a whim whilst in Daiso in Melbourne. I was so amazed by the entire store so I kind of got swept up and purchased a lot of stuff. I have been using this mascara almost every day since I got it. It is my perfect every day mascara, no clumping whatsoever and adds subtle length to my stubby lashes. I am not sure about their claim of high curling however, I just find this adds length but does nothing whatsoever about curling my lashes. Being from Daiso this was $2.80 AU.

What have you been loving this month?

WOMF #01

Hey Lovelies

I thought today I would share with you a WOMF post, otherwise known as what is on my face.

Base
I used the Loreal Infallible Liquid Foundation which I have been enjoying using lately. It is a tad too dark for my current colour but I am able to work with it. I find that this is quite heavy coverage and does last all day on my oily skin. I also used the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer, I really love this concealer and if I didnt have about another 5 different kinds of concealer waiting to be opened I would definitely purchase a back up. It covers really well and does not crease. Next I applied my Topshop Powder Blush in Let Her Go with a big fluffy brush. This blush is very pigmented so I make sure to brush off any excess pigment on my brush and apply with a light touch. I set everything with my Models Prefer Soft Touch Mineral Powder in Soft Glow which I adore, it blurs my skin and makes everything look like it has an instagram filter on top!

Eyes
I used my trusty Kmart OXX Eye Quad which cost a ridiculous $2. I really like this quad, I find that these are the perfect everyday colours and while they do not last all day and night they last long enough for an average day for me. I then used my Essence Bloom Me Up Duo Eye Pencil to line my waterline, unfortunately this was LE but any nude pencil will do in brightening the eye area. I then curled my lashes and applied my much loved Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara which makes my lashes darker and slightly longer without clumping and without any extreme spider lashes. I know a lot of people dislike this mascara as it doesn't do very much, but for my short stubby lashes this is perfect for a subtle everyday look.

Lips
Keeping it simple I used my Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate which adds a light red sheen to my lips, this is also super moisturising and doesn't leave those dried up bits on my lips afterwards (how awful is that, happens all the time to my poor dry lips).

Rimmel London Mono Eye Shadow

I wanted to share with you a new purchase I recently made in a Kmart sale, I purchased this for $2 in shade 030 Smokey Quartz. This single eyeshadow retails for $10.50 AU so I could not resist picking it up. I think this is an absolutely gorgeous shade, another neutral brown (maybe more taupe than anything).

Looking on the back on the packaging, it says that this shade complements blue eyes, whoops! I still think this is a gorgeous universal shade but I understand why it would look particularly lovely with you blue eyed babes. They also recommend two different ways of wearing this shadow, the subtle look and the London look. The Subtle Look: wash over lid. The London Look: add lots of kohl eye liner & a bright lipstick or lipgloss. I like to wear this by itself or with other shades blended in.

There is 14 shades in the range, I probably would not bother buying any others however as the only shades I am interested in are similar to the one I owned. I would recommend this though, it goes on lightly at first but is easily built up so it is fairly pigmented. It is a soft buttery texture in the pan with just a little fallout.

Have you tried a Rimmel Mono Shadow before?

Maybelline Hyper Diamonds Eye Colour Palette

Hey Guys

So I broke my spending ban a while ago on a few sale items at Kmart. Everything was between $2 and $10 because they were removing all free standing items and changing them with hanging displays.

One of the items I picked up was this Maybelline New York Hyper Diamonds Eye Colour Palette in shade Berry Diamonds BR-2. I think this is an absolutely gorgeous palette and I think the berry colours will be great in winter time and a nice change from my very typically neutral shadows.

This contains 5 different shades which are all shimmers, hence the hyper diamonds name. There is a light pale white shade with pink and golden shimmer flecks, this would be good for highlighting either in the corner of the eye or below the eyebrow. There is also a slightly similar pale pink colour with smaller shimmer flecks, this should make a good solid base colour. There is a brown colour which is tinted with purple and gold shimmer. There is a purple mauve, berry coloured shadow with gold and purple flecks. The last colour is a very deep purple coloured shadow with purple flecks in it.

When I took the pictures for the swatches, the lightest colour was prone to some fallout, it has the largest shimmer flecks in it. They also did not immediately rub off until I lathered up with some hand soap.

I will test out the wear time closer to winter or on a night out, the shimmer is probably a bit too much for day time. This retails for $18.95 AU but I purchased it for $5 AU on sale. I am happy to try out some new colours that I don't actually have in my collection.

Have you purchased anything similar lately?
