Weekly Loves #08

It has been a fair while since I have done one of these posts but I have actually been loving some different products this week so I wanted to share them with you!

This lip treatment comes in a duo kit with a day treatment as well and while I like the day lip balm I absolutely love the night one. It is quite thick and a fairly plain formula (no scent) but it leaves my lips so smooth the next morning. Definitely recommend using a treatment like this during winter if you suffer from dry lips like myself.

I am trying to use this treatment every three nights in order to get continued benefits, I typically use it once a week and my skin is amazing the next morning but using this only once a week doesn't benefit my skin long term. Since starting to use this every three nights I have been noticing my skin is generally clearer and scars are starting to slowly lighten.

If you don't own a BYS blush then you are missing out, they have some lovely colours with great pigmentation for very little cost. Coral is typically my go to however for some reason I have been drawn to this lovey pink colour. It makes my cheeks look flushed and bright without effort.

I purchased this eyeliner specifically to use on my waterline as I had read reviews that it brightens up the eye area, and it really does. This pencil is very creamy which makes it easy to line the waterline and it instantly gives you a fresh eyed look regardless of how much sleep you have gotten.

Bones
I have been re watching all the episodes of the tv show Bones, I am up to season 9 and have rushed though all of the episodes, completely addicted and in love. Cannot wait until it comes back for season 10.

Kiss Proof Lips

Hey Guys

Today I wanted to share with you a product that I think is amazing and lives up to claims, Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lips. I received a sample size of 1.2ml in a Lust Have It! box a while ago, I had this sitting in my drawer and forgot about it as it is not really a colour I would pick up. I have shade 04 Neon Hot Pink which it really is, a beautiful shocking vibrant pink. The range offers 11 colours, some neutral and quite a few bright and wonderful shades.

This matte lipstick claims 24 hour wear time, I cannot attest to this as who wants lipstick that lasts for 24 hours? However I do now that this is extremely long lasting and once dry on the lips this baby is not coming off. To swatch it I had to try to remove it several times as it just was not coming off. Being a matte lipstick this is a little drying on the lips, so I use a scrub and then a balm before applying this and it sits on my lips just fine. This lasts through eating, drinking and I assume kissing as well (the boy wont come near me with such a bright lip on though).

This retails for $29 AU (the size is not listed on the website though, sorry) and is available on their website and some salons, I have heard they are coming to Coles though! I would definitely recommend this if you want a beautiful lip colour that will not budge throughout the day.

Review: Glamourflage Sultry Sophie Lip/Cheek Stain

Hey Lovelies

I received this lip/cheek stain in a Lust Have It! box a few months ago, review here. I have not actually tried anything from Glamourflage before but I have heard of the brand a few times. The brand is a result of a woman with an English background living in Australia, with the company being described as "a company that infuses quality skincare and make-up with the flirty personality and class of a 1940/50s pin up girl." I dont own any lip/cheek stain so it was great that I received this product in my box.

The name behind Sultry Sophie's Lip/Cheek Stain is discussed on the Glamourflage website and they describe her as:
Sophie has a BA in bantering, a Masters in mincing and a Phd in philandering. When anyone complains, she gives a secret smile and says 'Life's hard - get a helmet'! For tomorrow, as Scarlett O'Hara so succinctly put it, is indeed another day!

The packaging of this is oh so cute, with a cardboard box and a pull tag which reveals a little inside compartment which houses the stain. On the box is of course the lovely Sultry Sophie. The stain itself is in a glass bottle with a silver cap. The cap contains a long brush on applicator. Personally I would of preferred a sponge as I find a brush difficult to work with but it is adequate enough to apply product if you follow with another kind of brush.

The colour itself of this stain is a pinky red, which looks lovely on both the lips and cheeks. I prefer to wear this on my cheeks as it it rather difficult to apply to the lips, you definitely need a lip brush otherwise you will stain your fingers. This is most definitely a staining product so watch out if you get it anywhere you didn't plan on putting it! As it is a stain it does have an amazing wear time but it does tend to sheer out during the day and looks less vibrant, but that give a nice natural look.

This retails for $21.95 AU for 8.5ml and is available off the Glamourflage website or several other places as listed on their website.

Have you tried any Glamourflage products?

Disappointed with Covergirl Clean Glow Blusher

Hey Guys

I have had this product for quite a while now and have been trying my best to like it and get the best use out of it, but I am just really disappointed with it. I picked up Covergirl Clean Glow Blusher in shade 100 Roses a while ago now while on sale at Big W. I was hoping to add a lovely rose coloured blush to my collection and the fact that you got three different colours is appealing as they can be used separately or mixed for one different colour.

The colours of this blush is nice but they just show up so light on the skin. I really had to swipe quite a few time to just get decent swatches to use. I use the Real Techniques Blush Brush which usually picks up the perfect amount of product from any blush, however this still can barely pick up anything from this blush.

There is sadly not much else to say, lasting time is terrible as usually you can barely get enough product on your cheeks and when you do it is gone within an hour or so. The formula is soft to the touch but feels very dense which may be why I cant get to the product, and it does not seem to be a surface issue as I have tried to scratch off some of the surface but it still did not work. This retails for $12.95 AU and also comes in the shade 110 Peaches but I would recommend you skip this product. I rarely ever throw anything away that is not expired but I may have to just chuck this one!

Have you tried a disappointing product lately?

Review: Bourjois Paris Delice de Soleil Bronzing Powder

Hey Lovelies

I bought this bronzing powder ages ago during a sale at Priceline (I think it was one of their 40% off cosmetics sales, I tend to go a bit crazy and buy ALOT of things during those sales) but have not really used it much so I am trying to make a more conscious effort to use it so that I could review it for you guys! I originally had wanted the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder which I could not find anywhere in Australia so I picked the Delice de Soleil  instead.

The packaging of this bronzer is super cute! The lid flips sideways to reveal the powder and a cute little brush which feels a bit prickly but is very convenient if you need a brush asap and have nothing else on hand. There is also a mirror on the reverse side which I originally thought of as very inconvenient as I assumed you had to flip the product upside down to use it, but Bourjois have thought of everything as the mirror flips so that it covers the product and you can turn it around, *ta-da* you now have a functioning mirror.

I was originally hoping that I could use this as a contour product as well but it just is not the right colour on my skin to use it as that, also the glitter/shimmer makes it a bit impracticable as a contour. I picked this up in the formula for fair/medium skins as I rarely ever get that tanned and I already have some way too dark bronzers. This bronzing powder does have some rather obvious shimmer/glitter in it, I don't personally mind that but you should be aware of that before you pick this up if you are hoping for a non glitter bronzer. It does smell amazing though, with added cocoa bean and orange blossom extract.

I really like this bronzer to warm up the perimeters of my face, it is light enough that it still looks natural but gives that sun kissed look. Too much can look a bit on the orange side though so I find it works best with a fluffy brush and light touch. This retails for $30.00 AU at Priceline but is currently on sale for $21.00 AU.

Have you tried this bronzer or the other bronzer by Bourjois?

First Impressions: Skin Doctors Cosmeceuticals T Zone Oil Control Cleanser

Hey Guys

Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on a new cleanser I have been using for the past two weeks. I know that it takes a while for our skin to adjust to new products which is why this is only a first impressions post, despite having used the product for two weeks. I have never used any products before from Skin Doctors Cosmecuticals but I purchased this cleanser during Priceline's 40% off skincare sale at the end of last year. The website does not have an 'about Skin Doctors' section on it so unfortunately I cant tell you much about the brand as I don't know very much about it.

The range I was interested in trying is the T Zone range, which is aimed at those of us with oily skin. I picked up the cleanser which is described as:
A paraben-free cleansing and balancing gel specifically formulated for skin prone to oiliness in the T-Zone. This cleansing gel contains the active ingredients EVERMAT and ACNACIDOL to deeply purify pores and cleanse and balance oily and combination skin.

First of all I have never heard of EVERMAT or ACNACIDOL  but I don't know much about skincare ingredients. I picked this up mainly because I wanted to try a new gel cleanser after using the Avene Soapless Gel Cleanser for a long time with multiple repurchases. This is a slightly foaming gel but it does not leave my skin feeling stripped of moisture, which is what I was half expecting coming from a product that aims to stop oil production. I have not really noticed a huge difference in the amount of oil on my face, unfortunately by mid day my face is still bound to be oily, particularly on makeup free days. Forgetting that it is aimed to stop oily skin, I do quite like this cleanser. It does not smell offensive and I enjoy the slightly lathering quality of it. The packaging is hopeless however, it is almost impossible to open the lid and then once you have the product spills out because it is in a soft tube.

I am hoping to see some better effects after longer continued use but I will continue using this until I finish it, but probably wont be repurchasing it. This retails for $29.95 for 150ml on the Skin Doctors Cosmecuticals website.

Some Lip Love

Hey my very patient lovelies

It has been so long and I am extremely apologetic about that, I have been putting my time towards studying for my super important exams, I really need to pass my units in order to finish on time! But I finished my last exam today and have a month off before next semester begins. I will be up to some shopping on my break so look out for some haul posts.

Anyways today I wanted to share with you a few of my latest lip products from a brand that has been upping their game.. I present to you ChapStick! I had forgotten about ChapSticks in favour of my Lanolips (which still has a place in my heart) but recently they have been all over Instagram and I just had to jump on the bandwagon. Priceline had a buy 2 and receive 30% off offer so I took advantage and picked up two items I had been lusting for, ChapStick Day & Night and ChapStick Mixstix.

ChapStick Day & Night is designed to give you 24 hour moisture through the use of two different tubes. One is the day formula which contains aloe vera and vitamin E with SPF 15. The night one is a repair lip treatment. I really like the idea of two different formulas for different times of the day. There is no need for SPF at night and you can really use a thicker moisturiser formula at night. This retails for $7.99 AU at Priceline.

ChapSticks Mixstix is a limited edition twin lip balm mix which contains two sticks with two ends on each so ultimately you get four different flavones. One stick contains Strawberry Banana Smoothie which is one side strawberry and one side banana, the other stick is Lemon Berry Sorbet with one side lemon the other side berry. The idea is that you can mix the sides to get different flavours. The packaging feels a bit cheap and flimsy but I really like this idea and suggest you get your hands on this ASAP before it's too late! I can't find the price of these online but I believe it was around $7-8.

The other thing I am dying to get my hands on from ChapStick is their soon to be released Cake Batter ChapStick. It is in their All Things Sweet collectible tins which I will be picking up as soon as they reply to my message about where they are stocked near me!

Have you been loving ChapStick as much as I have?

Review: Australis Make-Up Finishing Spritz

Hey Lovelies

I purchased this make-up finishing spritz by Australis a while back but only just started using it. Before this I was just spraying thermal water on my face to demattify (is that a word?) my makeup and make it last that little bit longer.  The main ingredient in this is water, it just has a few added benefits to it.

Ultimately I think this is pretty much the same as my thermal water so I probably won't be repurchasing this. The spray of this goes on quite heavy, not as light as my aerosol spray cans. This retails for $14.95 AU for 150ml however 300ml of thermal water retails for around $24 AU. This spray by Australis does contain Rose Water and Aloe Vera which smells really nice if you enjoy rose scents.

Do you use a makeup spray?

Chemist Warehouse Haul

Hey Guys

I think my spending ban was officially over when I decided to do an online order from Chemist Warehouse, they had 50% off all cosmetic brands which included Revlon, Rimmel and Maybelline. To be honest I could of done much much more damage, I kept it simple and mainly just purchased backups for when I run out, because half price is amazing value. So here is what I picked up.

Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder

I absolutely adore this powder, I already own one in the shade 001 Transparent and I picked up another two in the same shade. I do love my loose finishing veil which also has no colour, however sometimes a pressed powder is just more convenient. This ensures I stay shine free for a longer period of time, usually 4-5 hours which is great on an oily skinned gal like myself. One little niggle with this product is that every one I own the lid is cracked! It's like the lid doesn't fit the container, does anyone else have this problem or just me? This retails for $12.95 but was on sale for $6.47.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

I grabbed this concealer in shade 030 Classic Beige as I wanted a new concealer for under my eyes. I have been suffering from really bad under eye circles. This shade may be a bit too dark for under my eyes as I prefer something a bit lighter than my skin tone. So hopefully if it's too dark I can use it on any blemishes. This retails for $14.95 but I purchased it for $7.47.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal

I have heard so many great things about this eyeliner in shade 005 Nude so I had to pick it up for myself to try. I hear that when used on the waterline it really brightens up your eyes. This retails for $9.95 but was on sale for $4.97.

Rimmel Finishing Touch Ultra Shine Top Coat

I need another top coat as I currently only own one from O.P.I but it takes forever to dry! I borrowed this while at a friends house and I quite liked it, goes on smoothly and dries quickly and appeared to do a good job of making my nail polish last! This retails for $8.95 but was on sale for $4.47.

Maybelline Fit Me! Shine-Free Foundation

I have read mixed reviews on this foundation, I don't plan on using it as an actual foundation as I read it isn't great coverage which is not something I am interested in. I picked up shade 240 Golden Beige to contour with, I wanted the Toffee shade but they were sold out online. Most of these were sold out! Swatching this it looks a little orange but hopefully will blend out ok. I also wanted to pick up one of these for a concealer as I have heard that they are great concealers, but sadly there was no close matches in stock. I will have to look at picking up another if I enjoy the formula of this one. These retail for $15.95 but I grabbed this for $7.97.

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer

I have actually owned this a long time ago when I used to use the whole Fit Me! range but I found the foundation oxidised on my skin really badly. I have been reading great reviews on this concealer though so I have picked this up in shade 20 Sand for concealing scars and blemishes. This retails for $14.95 but was on sale for $7.47.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin

I have really been loving this foundation so I picked up a spare because I can't imagine not having it. It is long lasting and keeps the shine away, it does smell a bit chemically but the pros far outway the cons. I have shade 220 Natural Beige which retails for $34.95 but was on sale for $17.48.

Revlon New Complexion Oil Control Makeup

I picked this up on a whim, it was only $12.48 so I decided that considering how much I loved my Colorstay foundation I might love this as well. It is aimed at my skin type but I am unsure of how high the coverage is, hopefully similar to the higher coverage of Colorstay.

And there you are, everything I picked up during the sale. I purchased this all on the website as the nearest store is an hour away! It is free shipping when you spend $99 or more, so my friend and I purchased together. Shipping was super quick, only a day. Some items were missing as they were being shipped from another warehouse but that only took an extra two days. I had originally believed the sale was ending on 29 May but according to the website and Instagram it is still on, so get in quick.

Did you participate in this sale?
