Review: Lust Have It! February Beauty Box

Hello Everyone!

I realise that it is now March and I am reviewing a February box, I only received the box on the last day of February so please forgive me for not immediately writing a review about it. I had planned on reviewing my January box with you but I did not receive it until fairly late in February and I was really disappointed with the whole box and didn't want to be so negative online about it so I kept it to myself. I was a bit more pleased with this months box but I have decided to not renew my subscription so I will only be receiving a few more boxes until it stops altogether! On to what I received in this months Lust Have It! box.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive

I have never heard of the Juice Beauty brand before, which is not surprising as the only stores in Australia are located in Sydney. I am looking forward to trying this exfoliator as it aims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and lighten hyperpigmentation. I am still young so wrinkles are not a concern to me but hyperpigmentation is another story. This retails for $65 AU for the full size 60ml, we received a deluxe sample size of 7ml in our box. The only way to purchase this however is from Amazon or instore if you live in Sydney, which is a little inconvenient for those of us living here in Western Australia. I look forward to trying this out for a while and update you on how it goes.

The Cosmetic Kitchen Eyeshadow

I am a little confused by the brand The Cosmetic Kitchen, when I looked up their webite only a page comes up with little information about the brand, other than that they are located in Newton, New South Wales, and they offer makeup classes for free and have a range of products. However you cannot view the products online so I do not really know very much about the two products I received in my box. This is a pure mineral eyeshadow in loose form that is talc free as well as cruelty free and a vegan product. I received the colour blue ice, which is a lovely shade of blue, however I am fairly unadventurous and will probably get next to no use out of this eyeshadow. Maybe I will use a wet brush and apply it as an eyeliner, but I think I probably will put this away in a drawer and forget about it. This is a full size product and retails for $22.50 AU.

The Cosmetic Kitchen Makeup Brush

I cannot find information on what brush this is, however it is very soft and not what I deem large enough to consider a powder brush so I feel like this is a blush brush or possibly a contour brush (as others have suggested) but to me this does not seem stiff enough to make a decent contour line. I look forward to trying out this brush as it is super soft, I am not sure if it will replace my Real Techniques Blush Brush, but I am always willing to try!

I could not find this product on the Vaseline website but this is available in Australia at Priceline and grocery stores like Coles and Woolworths for $16.29 AU. The information card describes this as follows:
Contains anti-ageing ingredients such as AHA, pro-retinol and, vitamin B3 to effectively protects, restores, brightens and tightens skin while giving immediate relief from dryness. Skin is more radiant, smoother and younger looking.
I like moisturisers and I have a fair few from past beauty boxes but I am happy to try out one with claims such as this. I have the 25ml sample size but the full size is 750ml.

I am planning on dying my hair again before winter is upon us, so I will keep this for use on my freshly dyed hair. I have been using purple shampoos and conditioners on the ends of my hair since I dyed it and I plan on dying it all over a darker colour so I will not need the purple products anymore. I recieved a sample size of 50ml but the full size 250ml retails for $13.95 AU.

I could not for the life of me, find this product on the Clairol Professional website. However this is ultimately a hairspray that has strong hold and claims to be long lasting and easy to brush out. I recieved 50ml but you can purchase the full size 300ml for $9.95 AU. I like having the small size for travel so I will eventually get around to using this, perhaps I will take it away with me in April.

This is perhaps the strangest product I have received to date, in a Lust Have It! box. This is a single handwipe that retails for $1.50 per hand wipe, which contains organic fulvic acid extract, hyaluronic acid, royal jelly, glycerin and soy bean extract. This is meant to be very moisturising and nourishing which is perfect for my extremely dry hands at the moment.

So that is everything that is contained within my February beauty box, it is an improvement upon the last couple months so I was quite happy with it. I do not mind that we did not receive a proper box this month as they are updating them so February and March boxes will be just normal packaging and then April will be something new, I have a heap of the boxes at home so I do not need to add more to my collection! I just do not feel the excitement now when I see the box left at my front door, rather just a bit meh about it all and it is no longer ripped open straight away but sits there until I can be bothered. Sorry for all the complaining, I did used to love my boxes, I swear!

Do you receive the monthly Lust Have It! boxes? What did you think of this month?

Love Liz xx

  1. I've always wanted to try these monthly box subscription things, but I'm always worried about receiving things that are a bit pointless or I'll never use, maybe I just have to find the right one!

    1. They are great if you want to try out samples from brands you have or haven't heard from before! I just have been receiving them for at least over a year now and it feels a bit repetitive, but I would definitely recommend Lust Have It! boxes as they are always trying to change things up and make things better for their customers. I am thinking of maybe waiting until I have used up the very many samples I own and then trying another box, I have heard good things about the Violet Box.
      Hope that helps at all!
